Fairmount Post is currently accepting new Veteran members; all honorably discharged Veterans from Dec 7, 1941 to present day are now eligible to join The American Legion. American Legion Fairmount Post 85 was built by members in 1946. We are proud members of the American Legion, Department of Rhode Island, 1st County. We are a friendly, welcoming Post in the heart of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. We are a very active Post involved in Veteran, Children, and Community issues. We are open to the public with many fun events, fundraisers, charities and great entertainment.
Post 85 has a full inside bar open to the public. We have an inside hall and outside pavilion (covered) available for rent throughout the year at very competitive prices. Rentals are open to the public, although members get a discount. Full outside bar and restrooms and plenty of parking available.

American Legion
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. Legionnaires’ sense of obligation to community, state and nation drives an honest advocacy for veterans in Washington. The Legion stands behind the issues most important to the nation's veterans community, backed by resolutions passed by volunteer leadership.
The American Legion’s success depends entirely on active membership, participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people it serves and the communities in which it thrives.
